New Instructions for College Admission Given by Education Board. The application process for admission in the eleventh grade for the educational year 2024-25 is ongoing. However, many students are facing various problems while applying.

Therefore, new instructions have been given for cancelling applications and providing improvements for the students. These instructions have been provided on the website for admission applications in the eleventh grade by the Ministry of Education.

On Saturday (June 8th), new instructions have been given regarding admission cancellation and improvement for students in the eleventh grade on the college admission-related website.

According to these instructions, there are new guidelines for students who want to cancel their admission applications in the eleventh grade. Those students who have applied for admission cancellation will have their application cancelled along with the associated payment. After reapplying, they will need to pay the application fee again.

Additionally, students who have taken the improvement exam will be allowed to use their results in the Smart Admission System based on their preference, as directed by the board. Through this form, students can inform their preferences by today (June 8th). If their preferred information is not received within this timeframe, the results of their latest exam will be used in the Smart Admission System.

Interested students can apply for admission to the eleventh grade until June 11th. By 12 PM on June 5th, a total of 1,097,663 applications have been received. Among them, 5,980,690 have been admitted to their preferred choice. Payments have been completed by 1,088,651 applicants.

New Instructions for College Admission Given by Education Board

Online application:

According to the admission policy published by the Ministry of Education for the xi college admission, the admission process for the eleventh grade will be carried out on a designated website online. Manual admission applications will not be accepted from regular students without online submission.

With an application fee of 150 Taka, students will have to prioritize their choices for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 colleges. Based on their merit, quota, and preferences, they will be admitted to only one college from among these choices.

What is the merit quota? 

In the case of admission to the eleventh grade, 93% of the total vacant seats will be considered based on merit quotas. These seats will be open to everyone. Among the remaining 7%, 5% will be reserved as before for the children of freedom fighters.

The remaining 2% will be reserved for the children of officials and employees working under the Ministry of Education and its subordinate offices. Like before, if there are no students for these seats, they will be considered based on merit quotas. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, a list will be prepared based on merit.

Eligibility and group selection:

Students who have passed the SSC or equivalent exams under any education board in the country or the Bangladesh Open University will be eligible for admission to colleges or equivalent institutions online according to the policy, along with other provisions of the policy.

Apart from that, students who have passed from open universities or other years will also be able to apply for admission manually through the board. Students who have passed equivalent exams from foreign boards or similar institutions will be considered eligible for admission after the verification of their certificates by the Dhaka Education Board.

Students who have passed from the science group can apply to any of the science, humanities, or business education groups; students from the humanities group can apply to any of the humanities or business education groups, and students from the business education group can apply to any of the business education or humanities groups.

Additionally, students from any group (science, humanities, or business education) can apply to the Islamic education, home economics, or music groups; students from the science group under the Madrasa Education Board can apply to any group except the science group, and students from the general or mujaibid mahir groups can apply to any group except the science group based on their merit.

Students who have passed the SSC (vocational) or Dakhil (vocational) exams from the technical education board can apply for admission to any group under the general education board.

The respective authorities or boards will approve proposals regarding admission, result publication, admission, and start of classes every year and will issue notifications accordingly.

Change of college or equivalent institution:

Without prior permission from the respective education board, no transfer certificate will be issued to any admitted student in the eleventh grade. Similarly, any admitted student cannot be admitted to any institution without a transfer certificate issued by the respective educational institution.

In case of admission through transfer certificates (TC), the college or equivalent institution authority must submit the necessary documents to the respective education board within 15 days of admission.

Maximum admission fee of 8,500 Taka:

The maximum admission fee for admission to the eleventh grade has been set at 8,500 Taka. Non-MPO colleges in the English version of the Dhaka Metropolitan Area can charge this rate. For non-MPO colleges in the Bengali version of Dhaka Metropolitan, the maximum admission fee is set at 7,500 Taka.

Non-MPO colleges in other metropolitan areas can charge a maximum of 5,000 Taka, and non-MPO colleges in the English version can charge a maximum of 6,000 Taka. District-level non-MPO colleges in the Bengali version can charge 3,000 Taka, and non-MPO colleges in the English version can charge 4,000 Taka. Upazila-level non-MPO colleges in the Bengali version can charge 2,500 Taka, and non-MPO colleges in the English version can charge 3,000 Taka.

Classes start on July 30th:

Classes for the eleventh grade will commence on July 30th, except for some institutions, including Notre Dame College in Dhaka, where there are no admission tests for the eleventh grade. Students are admitted based on their SSC and equivalent exam results.

Each student will be placed in one institution based on their merit, quota (where applicable), and preferences among the colleges they applied to.
